Dr. David Serratelli is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon known for providing compassionate and state-of-the-art treatment to his patients.
His educational journey began at Seton Hall Preparatory School and continued in biomedical sciences at Marist College in New York, ultimately leading to a bachelor of science degree.
He pursued a doctorate of dental medicine (DMD) at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Rutgers University in Newark, graduating at the top of his class.
Dr. Serratelli utilizes the most up-to-date technology, including virtual surgical planning (VSP), custom plating, and predictive soft tissue modeling.
His surgical interests encompass a wide range of procedures, from complex dental implants and wisdom teeth removal to orthognathic surgery, oral reconstruction, and facial cosmetic surgery.
Education
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences
- Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey / Rutgers University
- Residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery
- Extensive training in facial cosmetic surgery and related procedures
Experience
- Completed oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, after dental school
- Private practice as a general dentist and found a passion for community-oriented surgical treatments
- Further training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Rutgers University to enhance skills and knowledge
Membership
- Active involvement in medical mission trips to Bangladesh, providing cleft lip/palate and facial reconstruction through "Smile Bangladesh"
- Chief resident during the final year of residency
- Involvement in research, particularly focusing on trigeminal nerve repair and facial cosmetic surgery
